THE POWER RANGERS MOVIE
PHOTO ALBUM

Right :
Alpha 5 (played by Peta Maree Rixon) during her (his?) first introduction to the new Command Centre set. She cannot hear, see or breathe inside this suit. (to breathe, she has a fish tank pump air line running up the inside of the suit.) Here she tries to get a feel (literally!) of the Command Centre's control panels..

Peta gets' a moments reprieve as her helmet is removed.

The Bear Zord Cockpit ready for filming. The Wolf and Bear were actually the same cockpit with only the outer shell changed in each case.
Left:

Bulk & Skull (Paul & Jason) do their stuff at Darling Harbour on the open set night.
Right :
Another shot of the Command Centre the night before shooting in here commenced. Originally, the original set electricians put too many flouros inside the control panels and the whole lot got too hot, causing most of the buttons to melt. This is where we became involved, replacing virtually the entire compliment and installing fans on the panels to keep them cool - all in one (very late) night.
Left:
The Pink Ranger's Crane Cockpit, mounted on gimble and ready to fly.
Right:
As you may be able to tell, this photo was taken _VERY_ late at night, after 14 hours filming the Megazord cockpit. Stuart Quan (Red), Bridget Riley (Yellow), Danny Stallcup (Black) and Sophia Crawford (Pink) joined by three of the Ranger dressing team and one dorky Set Electrician (yours truly) to the right.
Left :

The Phaedos Outlook set, as constructed in the massive Commemorative Pavilion at the Showgrounds. It's now Fox's Titanic Ride.
Right:
Our Heroes lined up at Jordon's Seafood Restaurant, Darling Harbour. I need not go through names, except maybe for Jamie Croft third from the left.
Left:
Humans as far as the eye can see, at Open Set, Darling Harbour. The true irony was that nobody here knew who Johhnny Bosch, Karan Jackson or Steve Cardenas were, because Season 2 of the TV show had not yet aired in Australia. They could also not recognise any of the stunt actors. The night was cruel and terribly unfair on the thousands of kids and parents who flocked to attend, only to be dissapointed as hour after hour dragged on with nobody having a clue what was going on. It was a Public Relations disaster.
Right:
Another shot of the Rangers supposedly watching the fireworks.. or maybe being pestered by Danny Stallcup..
Left :
The Rangers in the Megazord Cockpit as it is tipped forward on it's gimbal assembly. This scene was the one where the Megazord goes down before Tommy gets a chance to join up his Falconzord with it. The portable airconditioners (below) were an attempt to keep our heroes cool in those suits. Amazingly enough it worked quite well - it was freezing in there!
Right:
Another pose shot (this time with helmets on) taken on the night of the Megazord Cockpit shots.
Left:
A better shot inside the Commemorative Pavilion. Zedd's palace is to your left, and the exterior of the Command Center set is in the background. In front, the stunt team get ready to enter the world of the Tengu, with Danny already getting the feel of his flying rig.
Right:
Another less dignified shot of the Tengu Warriors. As they took off from Zedd's Balcony, they stopped metres later only to crash into the matte painting of Planet Earth which stood outside Zedd's Palace. Feathers fly as the team wait to be lowered back to the ground.
Left:

Blue Ranger (David Wald) inside the Wolf Cockpit as filming commences.
Right:

A wider shot of the scene, showing Wolf Cockpit from the rear mounted on it's gimble assembly as pre lighting commences.
Left:

Yours Truly, out the back at the business end of the Megazord Cockpit where much current flowed and relays clicked.
Right :

And this is what it was really all about. At top, the 12 cam electromechanical controller which drove the checkerboard displays (it was found in a rubbish pile and modified by fitting the motor to it.) Below, the specially designed and built driver for the foot position displays. Right is one of four junction points for the 71 circuits which ran the cockpit controls.
Left:

A view behind Rocky / Black Ranger's control position showing the
mass of rather messy wiring which bought Megazord to life.
